Luciano is a consultant gynaecologist and subspecialist in reproductive medicine and surgery. Luciano is the Clinical Director of Reproductive Health Group and the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) Person Responsible at the Centre for Reproductive Health (CRH Daresbury).
Luciano trained in Italy, London and Manchester before being appointed as consultant in gynaecology and reproductive medicine at St Mary’s Hospital, Manchester, where he worked full time until 2011.
Luciano has clinical and academic interests in infertility, assisted conception, gynaecological endocrinology, pelvic pain, menstrual disorders and hysteroscopic management of uterine abnormalities. He has expertise in gynaecological ultrasound scan and management of early pregnancy problems including recurrent miscarriage. He has vast experience in advanced laparoscopic surgery for the treatment of endometriosis, adhesions, fibroids, ovarian cysts, tubal surgery and other benign gynaecological conditions, and regularly performs complex laparoscopic procedures such as hysterectomy, myomectomy and reversal of sterilisation as day case procedures.
Luciano is a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and an associate member of many other learned societies including the British Fertility Society (BFS), European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy. Dr. Hamilton is a graduate of the University of Glasgow and his early medical career was based there. His subspecialty interest in infertility started in the early 1980’s and he trained both in Glasgow and Singapore. He was appointed to his consultant position in NHS Grampian in 1990 and is Honorary Senior Lecturer to the University of Aberdeen where he directed reproductive medicine clinical services for 25 years in one of the leading Fertility Centres in the UK.
He served on the British Fertility Society Committee for many years and was responsible for the development of training modules in infertility jointly with the RCOG and instituted a popular series of ethics meetings. He was Treasurer for 4 years and ultimately led the Society as Chair from 2006-8. He chaired the BFS Working Party on Sperm Donation Services in the UK which reported in 2008.
He has published over 80 papers in reproductive medicine, contributed several chapters in major textbooks and co-edits a popular RCOG textbook in infertility.

Andrew Vallance-Owen qualified at Birmingham University Medical School, later undertaking surgical training in Newcastle upon Tyne and Melbourne, Australia. After some time on the staff of the British Medical Association he was appointed Group Medical Director (Chief Medical Officer) of the international customers and led the initial work on developing the routine use of patient reported outcome measures; later chairing the Department of Health stakeholder group supporting the implementation of the NHS PROMs programme.
He retired from Bupa in March 2012 and has since taken on a number of non-executive roles. He chairs the UK's Private Healthcare Information Network and the Medicover Board's Ethics Advisory Panel - this assures the ethics and quality of care of Medicover's Fertility Centres. He is also Senior Independent Director at the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust (a leading specialist heart and lung hospital). Over the last three years he has also been promoting the UK's healthcare system in international markets for Healthcare UK, a partnership between the NHS, Department of Health and UK Trade and Investment.

Bert joined Reproductive Health Group in 2013 to lead their team of embryologists. Bert graduated with a first class honors BSc. in Zoology from the University of Edinburgh and went on to complete a PhD at the University of Cambridge. After a research post involving the development of in vitro maturation processes in cattle, he started his clinical IVF career at Midland Fertility Services in 1988. There he progressed from Embryologist to Scientific Director until, eleven years later, moving to Fertility Associates Auckland, taking on the role of Scientific Director in New Zealand’s largest Fertility Clinic. In his 14 years there, he went on to become overall Scientific Director of a group of four clinics responsible for over 2000 cycles of IVF/ICSI per year. During that he was responsible for the introduction of many new technologies including blastocyst culture, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), embryo and oocyte Vitrification and time-lapse monitoring of embryo development. The successful introduction of new technologies and the constant improvement of all aspects of an embryo’s journey through the IVF process kept the Fertility Associates clinics amongst the most successful in Australasia. He has always believed that the key to improvement is to be there.
